Leon Rose

Leon Rose, born in 1961, is an American basketball executive and attorney currently serving as the president of the New York Knicks in the NBA. Rose first gained prominence as a leading sports agent, representing numerous high-profile NBA players such as Allen Iverson and LeBron James.

Raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Rose attended Cherry Hill High School East, where he played basketball and was inducted into the school’s hall of fame. He then graduated from Dickinson College, where he also played basketball, before earning his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law. His contributions to sports and law earned him an induction into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.

Rose’s career as a sports agent is particularly notable for his representation of LeBron James from 2005 to 2012. During this period, Rose orchestrated several major deals, including James' four-year contract with the Miami Heat in 2010, where he teamed up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Rose was instrumental in negotiating groundbreaking contracts for many players, establishing his reputation as a powerful figure in the sports world.

In March 2020, Rose transitioned from sports agent to NBA executive, taking on the role of president of the New York Knicks. His move from managing players to running a team has been closely watched in the basketball community, marking a significant shift in his career.
